Connect Search has a client who is located in Arlington Heights, IL who is seeking to hire a 6 to 12 Month Contract to Hire IT Support Professional.

Onsite 8am to 4am

Arlington Heights, IL - Onsite 5 days a week

Join our client, a leading nonprofit supporting individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, as a Help Desk Technician . You’ll provide critical IT support to 1,000+ users across 60+ locations, ensuring smooth operations for mission-driven services. This is a hands-on, onsite role ideal for a collaborative problem-solver with 2+ years of IT experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1-2 technical support (hardware/software troubleshooting, Outlook, M365) via phone, tickets, and walk-ups.
• Manage Help Desk Hotline and resolve issues for on-site/off-site staff.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and assist with inventory tracking .
• Coordinate vendor visits for off-site repairs/installations.
• Document solutions in ticketing system and create user training materials .
• Support compliance efforts (backups, system logs, IT policies).

Requirements

• 2+ years of IT support experience (nonprofit background a plus).
• Proficiency in M365, Windows OS, basic networking , and ticketing systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills .
• Ability to lift/move equipment and travel to off-site locations as needed.
• High school diploma required (Bachelor’s preferred).
