Position: Production Manager (2025 Summer Salmon Season)

Location: Metlakatla, AK Plant / Barge

Position Overview

We are looking for a Production Manager to oversee salmon processing operations at our Metlakatla, AK Plant or Barge during the 2025 Summer Salmon Season. This is a great opportunity to grow with a leading seafood company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and schedule production activities.
• Train, supervise, and manage production employees.
• Lead by example on the production floor, with hands-on involvement in freezing and packing salmon.
• Ensure product quality and compliance with standards.
• Monitor and improve operational efficiency.
• Handle crew scheduling and collaborate with HR to meet production needs.
• Maintain production records and provide regular updates on operations.
• Work under pressure, with long shifts (12+ hours, 7 days a week during peak season).

Off-Season Responsibilities:

• Hire and interview seasonal staff for the next season.
• Review past performance and implement training programs.
• Ensure equipment maintenance and upgrades are ready for the next season.
• Collaborate across departments to align goals with company objectives.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required; college education a plus.
• 2-4 years of experience in the Alaska seafood industry.
• Production management experience required.
• Knowledge of HACCP and safety training.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to Alaska.
