Job Title: Mechanical Engineering Manager

Job Overview

We seek a Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team in Honolulu, HI. As a key commercial mechanical construction firm leader, you will oversee HVAC and plumbing design for various large-scale projects. Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers and designers, ensuring high-quality HVAC and plumbing system designs.
• Oversee the engineering design process, including load calculations, equipment selection, and system layouts for commercial projects.
• Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, and clients to develop cost-effective and innovative solutions.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and national codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and professional development for team members.
• Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and submittals.
• Assist in estimating, budgeting, and planning for mechanical system installations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in HVAC and plumbing system design within commercial construction.
• A professional engineer (PE) license is preferred, or one can obtain one in Hawaii.
• Proven leadership experience in managing engineering teams and projects.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, ASHRAE standards, and mechanical design principles.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other industry-standard software.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience working with design-build projects.
• LEED accreditation or experience with sustainable design.
• Familiarity with Hawaii-specific building codes and environmental regulations.
