Our client is currently seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer / Plant Engineer candidate to join their impressive & growing facility located near Concord NC. The Engineer will report directly into & work with the VP of Manufacturing on numerous plant expansion and process efficiency initiatives. Overall, the role is responsible for overseeing a portfolio of efficiency improvement projects across all manufacturing cells and lines. Candidates with experience in High Speed CPG / Food / Beverage / Pharma Processing & Automated Packaging Manufacturing will be ideal. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the manufacturing process, working to optimize existing systems and develop innovative solutions for production needs. This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Investigate production line build issues
• Ability to work well in a team and to lead and mentor employees.
• Providing hands on input and insight into equipment installation and troubleshooting.
• Work with the production team to integrate packaged equipment into the overall manufacturing process.
• Develop automation solutions to optimize plant floor operations including process and material
• Utilize Autodesk software to create detailed design plans and blueprints.
• Oversee the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of all equipment .
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and lab.
• Lead and mentor machine operators and maintenance, fostering a culture of continuous
• Support and Lead mechanical design engineering activities in a particular area.
• Searches for problem root cause and develop corrective action plans and solutions.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• 5+ years’ engineering experience in Food / Beverage / Consumer Packaged Goods Manufacturing
• Extensive experience in process design and the design of mechanical equipment.
• Lean Manufacturing / Process Excellence Experience. Ability to apply Root Cause Analysis, 5Y and/or Kaizen Facilitation to to drive Problem Solving & Process Reliability
• Knowledge of machine guarding and safety practices and standards (OSHA, etc.)
• Experience or understanding of physics principles for heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail.
