Job Description

Position Overview: As the Project Manager / Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all phases of substation and T&D construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. You will also play a key role in operations management, collaborating with internal teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders to execute projects that meet high standards of safety and quality. This position requires occasional travel to Cincinnati, OH, for site visits and project oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of substation and T&D construction projects from start to finish, ensuring successful delivery and adherence to scope, time line, and budget.
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets, tracking progress and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Ensure all construction activities are in compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections (with travel to Cincinnati, OH as required) to ensure that construction meets quality standards and project specifications.
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors and vendors to ensure the timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management and clients, reporting on project status, milestones, and potential risks.
  • Manage operational processes within the T&D and substation sectors to improve efficiency and effectiveness across multiple projects.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve project-related issues, mitigating risks and addressing challenges proactively.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and management of project teams, ensuring high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Implement and enforce best practices for project management, operations, and safety across all construction sites.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project management or operations management, with a focus on T&D or substation construction.
  • Strong knowledge of T&D infrastructure, substation construction processes, and relevant safety standards.
  • Proven experience in managing projects from initiation through completion, including budget, scheduling, and client communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, etc.).
  • Willingness to travel to Cincinnati, OH, and other project locations as needed.
  • PMP or other relevant project management certifications are a plus.
