A leading commercial construction management firm with a strong reputation throughout the Northeast is seeking a talented Project Manager to join their team in New Haven, CT . This is a confidential search being conducted by our recruitment firm on behalf of the client.

We are looking for a seasoned construction professional with experience managing life sciences, biotech, pharmaceutical, or higher education projects . The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-driven, and excels at delivering technically complex projects on time and within budget.

About the Role:

The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all phases of assigned projects, from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring client satisfaction and project excellence. This role demands strong leadership, excellent client management skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead construction projects through all phases: preconstruction, construction, and closeout.
• Manage client relationships and act as the primary point of contact.
• Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules and budgets.
• Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
• Oversee subcontractor procurement, buyouts, contract negotiations, and performance.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards.
• Drive project success on technically complex spaces including laboratories, research facilities, classrooms, and controlled environments.

What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years of project management experience with a CM or GC.
• Background in life sciences, biotech, pharmaceutical, or higher education construction .
• Ability to lead large, schedule-driven, and highly technical projects.
• Familiarity with project management software (Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar).
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
