Job Summary:

The Production Manager will lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Slitting and Packaging departments, ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness in all processes. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence through team leadership, process optimization, and the achievement of key performance metrics. The ideal candidate has a strong background in manufacturing, a proven record of people management, and a hands-on approach to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage daily production activities in the Slitting and Packaging departments.
  • Ensure all operations comply with safety regulations and promote a safety-first culture.
  • Achieve and exceed performance targets in productivity, quality, cost control, and on-time delivery.
  • Monitor inventory levels, raw material usage, and waste to support lean manufacturing goals.
  • Collaborate with planning, quality, and maintenance teams to meet customer requirements.
  • Analyze performance data and implement corrective actions to address operational inefficiencies.
  • Train, coach, and develop frontline production staff to enhance team capability and engagement.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on process optimization and cost reduction.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, quality standards, and environmental regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in print, packaging, or media.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams in a production environment.
  • Solid understanding of slitting, packaging, and material handling processes.
  • Proficiency in manufacturing metrics, lean manufacturing principles, and inventory control.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with ERP or MES systems.
  • Familiarity with ISO or other quality management systems.
  • Six Sigma, Lean, or related certifications are a plus.
