Synegen, Inc., located in Itasca, IL, is seeking a full-time, entry-level, Outbound Sales Development Representative - LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY - NOT A REMOTE POSITION - to join our sales team.

Job Description:

As we continue to execute our mission to help companies elevate the skills of their labor forces and optimize the efficiency of their sales and service processes through learning and CRM technology, we are seeking an Outbound Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our exceptionally talented sales team.

This individual will be responsible for generating interest in Synegen by contacting prospects, conveying our value proposition and solutions, and qualifying leads for our sales team. The ideal candidate will help to build the sales pipeline by researching potential clients, focusing on generating and qualifying leads, and setting up meetings for the sales team to close deals. This is an entry-level business technology sales position with sales career path potential.

Polished and professional, the SDR is an extension of the Synegen brand, and therefore, will be expected to uphold and model Synegen’s outstanding reputation.

Objectives of the Role:

  • Build a pipeline of leads for the sales team by reaching out to high-potential prospects.
  • Develop creative strategies for engaging and nurturing prospects using a multichannel approach including content, email, phone, social media and any other strategies that work
  • Partner closely with members of the sales and marketing teams to define an Ideal Customer Profile (ICP), implement coordinated engagement strategies, and share feedback to improve processes.
  • Educate the broader sales team on learnings and opportunities gleaned from your frontline interactions with prospects.

Responsibilities:

  • Initiate contact with prospects through various channels (e.g. phone, email, social media)
  • Conduct effective discovery and qualification conversations with prospects through your deep understanding of our technology product and service value proposition and use cases
  • Identify and research potential clients who match Synegen’s target audience and ideal customer profile.
  • Qualify leads by determining their needs, interests, and potential as customers.
  • Schedule introductory meetings and/or solution demonstrations between prospects and sales executives.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of leads, outreach activities, and interactions within our CRM system.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a customer facing and/or sales role
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport and establish relationships
  • Ability to use the LinkedIn social network platform to network and make beneficial and relevant connections
  • Impeccable writing and grammar skills
  • Good listening skills and verbal communication
  • Strong command and higher-level articulation of the English language
  • Positive, ambitious, confident, and energetic demeanor
  • Resilient with the ability to handle rejection and stay motivated

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or at least 5 years of relevant work experience in a sales environment
  • Familiarity with learning technology (e.g. LMS platforms) and CRM software (e.g. Salesforce, HubSpot) is a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Basic understanding of sales techniques and strategies is helpful, including lead generation, qualification and objection handling
