Job Title: Mechanical Designer (Temp-to-Perm)

Location: Rome, GA

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer with proficiency in SolidWorks to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess solid engineering design and drafting experience, with a focus on sheet metal fabrication, welding, and dimensional inspections. This is a temp-to-perm position.

Key Responsibilities:

• SolidWorks Design:
• Create detailed 3D parts and assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Develop and modify engineering drawings to meet project specifications.
• Work with SolidWorks Sheet Metal functionality to design components efficiently.
• Use SolidWorks configurations to design various part iterations and optimize for production.
• Utilize SolidWorks PDM for managing design files and version control.
• Perform dimensional inspections to ensure designs meet required specifications and tolerances.
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure design and manufacturing compatibility.
• Apply knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes to design components that are easily manufacturable.
• Use understanding of welding techniques to design parts that are welding-friendly.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Alternatively, an Associate's degree or other technical degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience will be considered.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, including parts and assemblies, engineering drawings, sheet metal, configurations, and PDM.
• Ability to perform dimensional inspections.
• Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication and welding processes.
• Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Fluent in English, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Must be willing to work on-site in Rome.
• Must be comfortable working both at a desk in the office and out on the production floor.
• Experience with SolidWorks PDM and managing design data.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
