Event Design Manager

Who We’re Looking For:

Are you a creative powerhouse with a passion for food, design, and unforgettable events? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where innovation and organization go hand in hand? Schaffer is looking for an  Event Design Manager to bring artistry, energy, and expertise to our events. With a strong understanding of the local catering market—spanning weddings, corporate events, and social gatherings—you’ll help us set the stage (and the table!) for success.

What You’ll Do:

Design & Execution:

  • Conceptualize, approve, and deliver exceptional event designs that reflect Schaffer’s brand standards.
  • Maintain an organized portfolio of approved designs using event and design software.
  • Collaborate with the creative director to develop cutting-edge concepts and new looks.
  • Attend designated events to oversee set-up and ensure designs are flawlessly executed.

Event Coordination:

  • Manage multiple event designs weekly, working closely with clients, coordinators, and the production team.
  • Participate in production calls to ensure client vision aligns with design strategies.
  • Coordinate with the warehouse team to maintain and transport design materials securely.

Trendspotting & Innovation:

  • Stay ahead of industry trends, sharing insights to keep Schaffer at the forefront of event design.
  • Lead R&D sessions with the creative director to brainstorm fresh ideas.
  • Build and maintain a comprehensive design catalog for future inspiration.

Inventory & Budgeting:

  • Manage inventory, ensuring all items are ordered, organized, and in prime condition.
  • Develop and monitor budgets for design-related expenses, tracking breakage and spending.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Competencies:
  • Initiative and a “fire in the furnace” drive.
  • Leadership with the ability to inspire and direct teams.
  • Stellar time management and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication proficiency, both written and verbal.
  • Impeccable organizational skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with graphic design software.
  • Education & Experience:
  • Associate of Arts, equivalent work experience, or Bachelor of Arts degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in event production and design.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office (Excel & Word), CRM, and essential design software.
  • Sharp attention to detail, with the ability to analyze and resolve challenges.
  • A professional, mature demeanor with the fortitude to contribute positively to our company culture.

Why You’ll Love This Role:

You’ll combine your artistic eye and passion for food with opportunities to create magical experiences. From trendsetting designs to hands-on event coordination, this role lets you showcase your talent and make a lasting impact.

The Details:
